Australian Teachers of Media (ATOM) is always looking for writers for the following publications:

  • Metro magazine
  • Screen Education magazine
  • study guides.

We ask that all writers download and adhere to our submission, referencing and style guide, and return a Letter of Agreement to us once we have accepted the article. All writers are paid for their articles. Our pay rates for writers are outlined below.

Please contact the editor, Nick Tapper, at magazines@atom.org.au with article proposals, submissions and editorial queries. We prefer articles to be emailed as Microsoft Word files, including a two-line bio of the author. Where possible, we also appreciate as many print-quality images as possible to be emailed or mailed on CD to: ATOM, PO Box 2040, St Kilda West VIC 3182, Australia. If you are emailing images, please make sure that each email is no larger than 10 MB.

Metro magazine

Metro specializes in essays and articles, reviews, interviews and analysis of Australian, New Zealand and Asian features and documentaries. It also covers television, radio, multimedia, animation and new media.

Screen Education

Screen Education is a quarterly magazine written by and for teachers and students in primary and secondary schools in all curriculum areas, as well as some areas of tertiary study.
